Lovely meal. We had Carverys. Good variety of meats and vegetables. Hot and well cooked. Not been in since the refurbishment where the kitchen has been updated? We like the place. It ticks all the boxes.
Changes to advertised meals should be explained to customers before ordering. Ice cream dispenser needs to be monitored to prevent kids vomiting through the dining area on the way to the toilet!
Had to search to find someone to serve. The carvery was dried out - the veg, potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, sausage and onions had clearly been on the servery for an extremely long time. Food and gravy had not been replenished nor had the surfaces been wiped down. I do not expect fine dining for this price but the food was practically inedible and generally things were in an appalling state. On our way to hospital to visit so called for a quick, debt meal - I didn't have time to stop and complain about the food and conditions but will not visit again even though it has in the past been decent and local.
Decent place, good menu. Very minor glitch in service was handled quickly and very professionally. Very good staff and service.
Stay well clear of this place. Called into this pub on the off chance of passing. Firstly when we approached the carvery the meat looked liked it should of been changed an hour earlier. I turned to my partner and said we will need plenty of gravy for this and in hindsight should of gone and got a refund at this point. All the vegetables was also dry too. The stuffing which was just a crusty mess in a pot was the last straw, so I asked the chef if they had some fresh stuffing, to be told 'no'. Clearly she didn't like her job. We got our food and after picking at it for a couple of minutes decided to leave it. Not one member of staff on passing asked us if we was ok. Poor food, poor customer service.
